New Service Design ebook for charities announced

Thrive has released a new ebook designed to help charities apply service design thinking to their strategy, services, and ways of working.

Created specifically for charity leaders, strategists, and delivery teams, the ebook provides a practical introduction to service design, setting out how organisations can better understand user needs, design more joined-up services, and make clearer strategic decisions in an increasingly complex environment.

The publication draws on Thrive’s experience working with charities and purpose-led organisations across the UK, combining proven frameworks with real-world insight. It explores how service design can be used not just to improve individual touchpoints, but to reshape services end-to-end, ensuring they are more effective, sustainable, and centred on the people they exist to support.

The ebook includes guidance on understanding current service experiences, identifying gaps and opportunities, prioritising change, and translating insight into action. It is intended as a practical resource that charities can use to start conversations internally, align teams, and build momentum for change.

Oliver Budworth, Founder of Thrive, said:

“Charities are under huge pressure to do more with limited resources. This ebook is about demystifying service design and showing how it can be applied in a pragmatic way, helping organisations create services that are clearer, more joined-up, and better aligned to the needs of their users.”

The release reflects Thrive’s ongoing commitment to supporting the charity sector with accessible tools, frameworks, and strategic thinking that can be applied in the real world, not just in theory.

The ebook is available to download now.
